Eva Ekvall, Former Miss Venezuela dies because of Cancer

Eva Ekvall, a former Venezuelan beauty queen, died at the age of 28 from breast cancer. Mother of one child breathed her last on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at a hospital in Houston, Texas, after two years of battling illness.

Ekvall beauty queen crown was awarded in 2000, when she was 17 years. At that young age Ekvall skyrocket as news anchor, author, and engaged in acts of raising funds for cancer.

Ekvall originally an ordinary girl and worked as a guard outfit in Caracas. Until a talent scout from the agency offered her foray into the world model catwalk. Ekvall rejected the offer and thought she was too fat. But one day, this girl was fired from her shop.

Not have a job, Ekvall decided to try to contact the talent. Who would have thought, when she arrived at the agency office, they instead decided Ekvall must follow beauty pageants in Venezuela. That woman who was born of American fathers and mothers of Jamaica is starting a career in entertainment.

In the following year Ekvall world beauty queen contest in Puerto Rico and won third runner-up position.

The point of life is bleak arrived in February 2010. Ekvall was diagnosed with breast cancer. For eight months she had to undergo various treatments including chemotherapy, radiation, and mastectomy. Ekvall actually realized there was a lump in her breast a few months earlier, but she thought it was just a change in the body due to her pregnancy.

"I feel angry, I should not ignore it," said Ekvall. Moreover, family history is also suffering from similar diseases. Her aunt and grandmother died of breast cancer.

During the illness, also posted a story of struggle Ekvall, Fuera de Coco or Out of Focus, by photographer Roberto Mata, who photographed her body changes from time to time until all the strands of hair of her head disappeared.

"At first I thought did not look pretty in photographs. Finally I thought, I do not have to look pretty. I've got cancer, " she said.

Through the book Ekvall want to convey the message the importance of preventing breast cancer. Moreover, her nation, a country where breast implants and plastic surgery are common.

Ekvall death was accompanied by her husband, John Fabio Bermudez, radio producer, and her daughter who was two years old, Miranda. Ekvall dying, her husband had time to take pictures when Fabio holding her fingers. The photo he uploaded to social networking sites Twitter and status, "Always forever, I love you, wife."
