Kristania Virginia Besouw, familiarly called Kristy, born in
Manado, May 7, 1984. In 2004, she was elected as Miss Manado and in 2006 won the
title of Miss Indonesia. However, now she became the US Army personnel.
When the status of Miss Indonesia and participated in the Miss World 2006, she was busily engaged in UNICEF to conduct counseling on the importance of measles immunization when the baby. She even had time to get the title "Queen of Measles" because its activity in the campaign for measles immunization for infants.
She was married in 2008 to a Filipino medical graduates. Currently, she lives in Colby, Kansas, United States.
Now, she officially became a US citizen and has been part of the US Army. However, she still missed Manado and was eager to return home to meet her family. She entered the US Army was because she wanted to find a way to return home.
It was raised to the Tribune Manado in an interview via Facebook on Thursday (03/12/2015). When reporters Tribune Manado, David Kusuma, introduce yourself and convey messages through Facebook wants to interview, she responded with a mixture of Indonesian and Manado.

How did Kristy joined the United States military?
Well, very long history. In short, I am here (US) has been almost eight years and have never come home (to Manado). Before entering the US Army, my status in the US as a college student visa and must continue and expensive lecture here.
So, go through MAVNI Army (Military Accession Vital to the National Interest) program. It was for people who go to school here at least two years. Once passed the Army, direct citizen (US citizen), so do not bother to think college continues.
The reason I entered the Army is so fast can be a citizen, in order to return
to Manado to meet up with my brother and sister and friends. Already miss you
so.
My deceased father died in 2011 and I do not go home to see it. In addition, because I miss you so alike daddy, I want to turn on the legacy (deceased Kristy’s father is retired Navy in Indonesia).
My grandpa also a career in policing. So, I continue the family legacy. If the father is still alive, he must be proud. In addition, I used to love the entrance of the military.

Motivates yes of course deceased father and my presence here. Log Army that may quickly return to Manado.
Now it has become a US citizen, then what the status of citizen of Indonesia?
If Indonesia to allow dual citizenship would be nice. But, for now, yes I am a US citizen.

Kristy's father in the Indonesian Navy, what was a consideration in the army, then why not choose to be a soldier in Indonesia?
He-he-he ... The situation is very different. I am here so the nurse (nurse). If the nurse in America really appreciated, school hard once, then when entering the Army rewarded once.

From my little tomboy all. Even so the Miss Indonesia 2006, which makes a tomboy really surprised because it could be beauty queen .... From the beginning I like to participate outside activities. Back in junior high school Eben Haezar 02 Manado join Scouts, basketball, marching band. Eben High School also participated Scouts, basketball, Flag raisers, and I became a carrier tray North Sulawesi province in 2001 so it's been accustomed to sunbathe. Training BCT (Basic Combat Training) course is much more difficult, but thank God, I pass.
Still in love with Indonesia and hometown Manado?
(Of course they will not forget ... I'm trying to pass BCT which is incredibly hard just to remember in order to return home). Time training end of October-end of January cold. Woke up at 4 am and slept at 5 pm, the night watch two hours every day, it was winter, physically difficult at all.
Kristy is ready if assigned to war?
In our BCT were taught basic combat (basics fighting) of defense (defense), hold the weapon, clean love guns, and firing weapons. I can pin "expert shooter", meaning I tolerable good at shooting, ha-ha-ha .... If you are ready or not at war, frankly, because if you want to be sent to the war area should join other training again, the name of the NTC (National Training Center). However, if you want to send, yes should be ready. We are trained to shoot first than first shot. But, frankly, if I want to fight the bad guys, I would not hesitate. Ha ha ha
